The biggest Czech hotel group, CPI Hotels, has turned partner to the educational programme Culinary Arts (CA). The company’s hotels in the Czech Republic have undertaken to co-operate exclusively with secondary vocational schools, which guarantee the introduction of an educational programme on Culinary Arts principles. Teaching within this educational programme in the next three years shall also involve hotel chefs and their deputies. The company announced co-operation at the press conference under the subtitle Training of Cooks in Bohemia, version 2.0. In collaboration with the CA Project, Chef Jiří Roith should ensure the vital quality interlink of theoretical and practical training in schools and practice in hotels and restaurants, where the trainees get their first experience and shape their habits into future employment in the gastronomy industry. At present, the partnership has just accomplished its first month of full operation; from September, the first group of first-year students studying in this programme should get an opportunity to test their newly acquired experience at some of the hotels of the Clarion, Fortuna or Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague brands.

Chinese actress Jing Chu Zhang and her team stayed in the Clarion Congress Hotel in Olomouc while shooting The Adventurers, an epic Hong Kong film in which she acts alongside Jean Reno and Andy Lau. The actress was greeted in the Chinese language by hotel manager Robin Hanák.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc became the official local partner of the second tournament of the prestigious World Grand Prix, which is a celebration of women’s professional volleyball. It provided the national teams of Bulgaria, Canada and players from the Dominican Republic and domestic Czechs with facilities to rest before the strenuous schedule.

More than ten partners from Olomouc engaged in the “Day for Mom” project of the association Good place to live, which focuses on helping mothers caring for disabled children. A delicious lunch awaited the moms at the Benada restaurant in the Clarion Congress Hotel, which was hosted by the operations hotel manager.

The portfolio of the country’s largest hotel group, CPI Hotels, expanded as the group took over the Prague Marriott Executive Apartments V Tůních as of 1 January 2016. It has also been operating the Starlight Suiten Hotel in Budapest since the beginning of December. The hotels will expand the company’s four-star hotel operations. The Marriott Executive Apartments have been renamed Mamaison Hotel Downtown Prague and joined the Mamaison Hotels & Residences brand. The Starlight Suiten Hotel in Budapest is slated to join it at some point in the future.

The last Saturday in November saw another charitable project held at the Christmas Stand of the Dobré místo pro život (A Good Place to Live) civic association. This time, the residents of Olomouc could purchase Christmas punch from the employees of the Clarion Congress Hotel and Olomouc Smash Gym on Horní náměstí. The proceeds of sales went to support the Šťastný úsměv (Happy Smile) association, which helps children with a cleft lip. In total, CZK 29,759 was raised.

The Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc won the award for the best Clarion in Central Europe for 2015 at the Choice Hotels European Annual Convention in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Georg Schlegel, CEO of Choice Hotels for Central and Eastern Europe, presented the plaque and diploma to Director of Sales and Marketing Patricia Rosenbergová and Leisure Manager Hana Žáková of CPI Hotels, the company that operates Clarion hotels in the Czech Republic at an evening gala. In addition, the hotel also won an award for recruiting new members for the Choice Hotel Privileges programme, which with its 24 million members worldwide, is one of the fastest-growing loyalty programmes in the tourist industry.

Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc has served as the venue for the third annual GCF Cage Fight Olomouc, a prestigious tournament. During the evening, 10 fights were viewable, held according to the rules of mixed martial arts, Thai boxing and K-1. In a single evening, the congress hall of the hotel was transformed into a fighting arena with a cage in the shape of an octagon. Mothers started their special “Day for Mum” at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Olomouc. The day full of relaxation, entertainment and wonderful experiences for mothers with handicapped children was prepared by the Olomouc association A Good Place for Life within the terms of the 3rd year of the Day for Mum organised by Mrs Věra Novotná. The purpose and main concept of the event is to support and reward women who devote all their time to the difficult care of children who have not had the best start in life.

CPI Hotels organised the 2nd annual Piazza d’Oro Espresso Cup competition for the best barista (bartender) of the group. The Imperial Hotel Ostrava, Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague, Mamaison Hotel Riverside Prague and 8 regional Clarion hotels, including the Clarion Congress Hotel in Vysočany, the venue of the competition, sent their representatives to the competition. An expert jury composed of the representatives of the gastronomy section of CPI Hotels and the co-organiser of the competition Douwe Egberts assessed two competition tasks – the preparation of a standard cappuccino and unrestricted coffee drinks made according to original recipes.

Clarion Olomouc was a partner of a charity event called Cancer is a Public Matter. The ceremony under the patronage of Mayor of Olomouc Antonín Staněk was presented by famous actor and host Tomáš Matonoha. The event included a fashion show of Italian brand Primigi, whose models were presented, among others, by children treated for cancer. A guest of the Petra Balvínová fashion show and its main face was Czech Miss 2014 Gabriela Franková who, together with Renáta Grmolenská, the director of the Cancer is a Public Matter Foundation, launched a calendar of STAR Group, the proceeds of which will be used to support the foundation.

The staff and management of the Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc participated in a charity event called the Christmas Stall of the Dobré místo pro život (Good Place to Live) citizens association. Selling punch at a stall on Horní náměstí (Upper Square) they collected money to support wheelchair users in Olomouc. "The event was very successful," said Michael Prstek, the operation manager of the Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc. "We collected 19,025 crowns, which is great. I'm glad that we pleased the people of Olomouc with great punch and supported a good cause."

The second annual Tourism Forum of the Czech Tourism Agency, held from 30–31 October 2014 in the Clarion Congress Hotel in Olomouc, introduced new trends in tourism and many interesting guests. The director general of the Czech Tourism destination agency, Rostislav Vondruška, outlined not just upcoming projects to attract tourism to the Czech Republic, but also touched on the current topic of the declining number of Russian tourists and outlined a "backup plan" for how to attract visitors from other regions.

Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc celebrates first anniversary of its opening. The Clarion, the 9th hotel of its brand operated by CPI Hotels, opened its gates to the first guests in September 2013. Its full operation was preceded by more than a 2-year complete reconstruction of the Sigma Hotel during which the hotel was rebuilt into a 4-star standard of the Clarion brand with its 126 rooms, congress facilities for up to 1,400 delegates, restaurant Benada and a wellness centre.

At the beginning of June, the 4th year of the Week of Reading to Children started within the campaign Every Czech Reads to Kids, a campaign supporting literacy and positive family relationships. An inauguration ceremony in the presence of celebrities took place in Divadlo na Šantovce in Olomouc, under the auspices Martin Major, Olomouc City mayor. Clarion representatives, who also offered free accommodation to the organisers, were also present at the event commencement where a poem "Nemalujte čerta na zeď" ("Do not paint a black picture") by Jiří Žáček was recited.

Children from the Children's Home in Olomouc visited the Clarion Congress Hotel last weekend. Another event of the cycle "Baking with Clarion" took place here. It was the first time the project, which has been running in Clarion hotels in Prague for three years in cooperation with the foundation Chance 4 Children, relocated outside the city of Prague. Children had a chance to get to know the hotel environment and find out about all the interesting professions that can be performed within hotel operation. They were guided around the hotel by Silvie Szymiková, sales manager at the Clarion Congress Hotel.

The famous Swiss writer and mystery solver Erich Von Däniken visited Olomouc during his Czech and Slovak tour. Excited visitors to the Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc could experience a more than 2-hour lecture called Mysterious Egypt and Other Mysteries of Ancient Times. The lecture series was followed by the writer's book signing. Däniken stayed in the executive suite of the Clarion hotel on Friday night, heading to Pardubice, his next destination the following day. The famous writer had returned to Moravia after 8 years.
